Happy Easter

This is something I made for Daisy to put her Easter present in. I couldn't find a template for a bunny so I made one myself. I used two different sized dodecahedrons and added bunny details. I then put this onto a box in Daisy's favourite colour, blue. My hubby is calling him cyber bunny because of the lack of curves, but I think he's quite sweet, really. I'm also entering it into a 3D keepsake challenge on the Crafts Beautiful forum.

A sketch

Over at Polkadoodles there is a great sketch to follow and you need to use black and white and one other colour. I chose pink for my other colour and thought it was a great opportunity to use my new paper boutique CD I bought from Polkadoodles. There's so much on it, I love it! I used the cake decoupage and found an oddment of pink acetate which I think looks great on the black card.

Hi all and a bit of news

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, but we decided on Friday to go to the Blue Mountains for the weekend. We had a fabulous time, going to Jenolan caves and to the zig zag railway. Daisy was so good in the caves, especially as it was 1 and a half hours underground and then loved the steam train ride.
Also, another reason why I've not been around as much as I've wanted to be is because I am pregnant. I'm due in July and we're very excited. However, I've not been feeling too well with it and after looking after Daisy all day I've just been exhausted. Happily, I've started to feel better now and so should be able to get on here more.

Polkadoodles sketch challenge

Over at polkadoodles they have a great sketch this week with the added challenge that you have to use blue and brown. I used papers from the DCWV garden party stack and have finally used the cute owl stamp from Hero Arts that I won on Sir Stampalot's blog hop.

Recipe book

This is my first attempt at a notebook. I haven't got a bind it all but always fancied getting one, so thought I'd see if I liked making notebooks first before buying one. I made this recipe book for a vegan food challenge on the Crafts Beautiful forum. I used some paper from the DCWV garden party stack. I found a recipe for a vegan banana smoothie and some apple and bran muffins, so made a muffin and smoothie and then wrote the banana recipe on the back of the banana and put a flap on the top of the muffin to put the recipe underneath. I really enjoyed making this.

Pink, black and white

Over at Allsorts, the theme is pink, black and white. I used a SU stamp and some gorgeous pink paper I bought at the craft show.
This is quite a simple card, but I think it works and sometimes I try to do too much to a card and it just doesn't look right.

Hi all

Yesterday I went to a craft show in Sydney. I spent so much time and money and had a wonderful time. As soon as Daisy went to bed, I had a play with some of the beads I bought. I made a set using a fab metal flower, pearls and rubber tubing. I think I'll get a lot of use from these. I also bought some great fimo beads. I would love to be able to make some as nice. I mixed some of the beads with rose quartz as I liked the black and soft pink combination. For my last one, I used some pink agate and crystal to make a necklace. There will be more makes coming soon, I think. Just a little warning!

Just for men

Over at the allsorts challenge blog the theme is just for men, young or old. I have a lot of young boy family members so thought I could make a card for one of them. I used K and Co papers and a digi stamp from Charmed cards and crafts.

Wings

Over at polkadoodles this week they are asking for wings and rubber stamping. I decided to have a play with my glimmer mists to create a background. It took a while to make one I liked. I stamped a flower from SU with versamark ink and then sprayed glimmer mist over it. Then, I used a Kaisercraft dragonfly stamp on black and a fairy stamp onto the background. I coloured the dress in as I thought it needed more than just the outline.

Quilt inspiration

I subscribe to a magazine over here - Australian cardmaking, stamping and papercraft and couldn't wait to have a go at one of their projects. It was about making cards inspired by quilt patterns The two cards I've made use the pinwheel and tit for tat patterns and I think they work well. I've been scanning the internet for other patterns I can adapt, so watch out for more!

I've been making the most of having some crafting time today as Daisy is at kindy. I couldn't do any over the weekend because my husband had all four wisdom teeth out on Friday and wasn't feeling too good after. This meant I had Daisy on my own for both days and I took her out a lot because if she was in she would have wanted to play with her daddy. So, when I finally put her to bed, I was shattered and couldn't even face crafting.

Hoppy birthday

Over at polkadoodles, they're asking for a shaped card. I love experimenting with shapes, especially for children's cards. I have made a frog card and decoupaged it for a bit of depth. I added a balloon with the sentiment.

Mothers Day card

Over on the Allsorts Challenge blog, the theme is to make something for mothers day or for someone who is like a mother to you. I made this for my Mum and I'm quite glad it's been done in lots of time as it needs to be sent to England. I used a pink and green colour scheme and then inside I made some pop up flowers using the instructions here. I'm also entering this for a mothers day challenge on the Crafts Beautiful forum.
