Finally, my craft class makes

Hi all,
I know, a post on a Wednesday, shock horror! Anyway, I have finally taken photos of the cards I made at the wonderful Brenda's class at Sir Stampalot. I made six cards altogether and had a wonderful time chatting to the other ladies. The first card shows my first attempt at brayering. I avoided this technique like the plague as it seemed very difficult, but I'm not quite as scared now and will be putting one on my birthday wish list! Don't look too closely at the scene, as I stamped the trees in the wrong place, but overall it's not too bad for a first try.

The next card (above) was such fun to make. Three stamps and an inked acrylic block (I had never thought of doing this before) were used to build up the image. The hinges were cut on a big shot (another wish list item) and then distressed. The next card uses a wonderful poppy stamp. Unfortunately I don't know the name of many stamps we used, and definitely not the numbers!

This last card took me ages to do as I couldn't get the dimensions right for each mat and it took a while to line up the borders. I loved making these and would love to make these classes an annual outing.

Back to normal

Hi all,
I hope those that had a bank holiday, had a good one. We didn't do too much, except tidy and unpack after our holiday. Tomorrow it's back to normal, with hubby going to work and Martha going to nursery. She was back to her normal self today, which I was very happy about.
This fortnight at Creative Craft, we are sponsored by Little Claires and Stitchy bear. Our theme is Just charming, and I have used a fab digi by Stitchy called Alice. Now, I expect you all have realised that we want to see charms on your projects, but I admit that I had to ask the DT when it appeared as I just had no idea. I suppose it's because I don't really use charms, so didn't think of it. The papers are by prima, and the flowers, charms and bling all came from my little spree at Sir Stampalot. Please check out the rest of the projects by the DT. We are also having a DT call, so if you are interested in joining a friendly team, check out the details on the blog.

Back again

Hi all,
We arrived back yesterday from our week away. It was lovely to see my parents and spend some time with them. We then travelled to Manchester to our nephew's 3rd birthday party. It was held at a farm adventure park and there were so many things to see and do. I will post the card I made for him later. I am pleased we have a bank holiday now to recover and sort ourselves out. Daisy has nearly recovered from the chicken pox, but Martha is taking a bit longer to get better, so I'm not sure if she will be able to go to nursery on Tuesday - probably not.
Over at Incy Wincy, the challenge is diamonds and pearls. We are sponsored by Sassy studios, who gave the DT some images to play with. My card is quite simple, but I forgot all about it, so had to make one at my parent's house, with limited resources. Have a good Monday,

Join the dots

Hi all,
We are having a wonderful time at my parents. We visited my Grandad on Monday and then managed to get Daisy's school shoes. On Tuesday we went to Wookey Hole to see the caves and all the other things there. On Wednesday, Daisy woke up, and was covered in spots. I'm glad she got chicken pox before she started school and she seems well in herself, and as we didn't go anywhere yesterday, it actually seemed like a holiday and a rest! Martha has a few spots now so at least it will be over and done with altogether.
It's time for another show at Digital Delights and this time I have used Rodney Reindeer. The papers are by making memories and basic grey and the flower is from Wild Orchid. This is my 8th Christmas card I think, which is more than I normally have at this stage in the year.
Have a good day,

Another 'not a card'

Hi all,
I have had a wonderful weekend. On Saturday, I had a ball at Sir Stampalot and it was wonderful meeting the lovely Brenda and all the lovely ladies at the class. We made some fantastic cards and I will show them in the next few days once I have taken photos. Then, on Sunday, it was great to meet up with our Sydney friends. Daisy loved playing with her friends again and hopefully we can meet up again soon. We are now at my parents. We are off to visit my Grandad today, who hasn't met Martha yet, and then we are off to Street to buy some discounted Clarks shoes for Daisy for school.
It's time for another challenge at Incy Wincy and this week we are sponsored by Meljens designs. Our challenge is anything but a card. This time I have made a tag, and used a fab flower image from Meljens. I paper pieced the images, using paper by Imaginisce. Check out the other fab projects by the rest of the DT.

We're off again!

Hi all,
I'm madly packing again as we are away for a week. Tomorrow I am off to Peterborough to a class at Sir Stampalot, and I can't wait! Then, Steve and the girls are picking me up so we can go to Hook to meet some friends from Sydney who are over here visiting family. It will be great to see them again. I can't believe that it has already been three months since we got back. On Sunday evening we are then off to Somerset to spend a week with my parents. I should still be able to get on the internet now and again to keep up with you all.
I made this card a few weeks ago and only just realised that I haven't posted it. When I started out making cards, I used to do a lot of decoupage and pyramage, but then I got hooked on stamps and find it hard to make a card without one now. However, the fabulous Wendy at Digital Delights has designed some fab pyramage and decoupage sheets. I have used Carolling Penny pyramage and kept with traditional colours. The card didn't take too long to do, but I like how it turned out and took me back to my roots! Have a wonderful weekend.

A beach in the summer? Never!

Hi all,
Well, yesterday we went to a local beach with the toddler group I go to with Martha. It was a bit cold, but the children even had a paddle in the North Sea. Daisy enjoyed it too as there were a few older children there. We spent five hours there and then ended the day with an ice cream - perfect!
It's time for my weekly showing of digis from Digital Delights. This week, I have used cupcake Timmy and a sentiment from the circus ticket sentiment set. The paper is by papermania and the buttons are from my stash.
Have a lovely rest of the week.

Rain, rain go away

Hi all,
It's been raining here for most of the morning, so Daisy and I went to a soft play and we're now playing at home. I really need to get the washing dried soon!
It's time for another challenge at Creative Craft and this time we would like to see anything but a card. I find this challenge hard as I can never make up my mind what to make. We are sponsored by Love to Stamp and Stamping Dragon Designs, who gave us some digis to play with. I used this back 2 school image and made a bookmark for Daisy to use when she starts school. She is desperate to go now and wants her own school reading book. The pencil paper is by Karen Foster designs and the other paper is from a gift bag I was given ages ago. Check out the rest of the other projects by the DT.

Only three more loads to go!

Hi all,
I'm back from Norfolk. We came back on Saturday and I have been hanging out loads of washing ever since, as we have a week here and then we are spending a week down in Somerset with my family and Daisy wants to take all of her favourite dresses with here again. We had a lovely week. My in laws and hubby's brothers and families were there. The girls loved playing with their cousins and it was nice to catch up with everyone.
It's time for another challenge at Incy Wincy and this week we are sponsored by
who are offering the winner a $10 gift card to their store. We have a recipe this week and would like you to include 3 embellishments, 2 papers and 1 image on your project. I have used a gorgeous lily image from Digi Doodle Shop and the papers are very old and I can't remember who made them, sorry. I bent the rules slightly with the embellishments, as I have used 3 different types of embellies, but more than one of each! Check out the rest of the projects by the fab DT.

Happy Anniversary

.

Hi all,

Well, we will be nearing the end of our holiday and so I will be back in the land of the internet soon to catch up with you all.

Today is mine and hubby's wedding anniversary, so for my Thursday showcase of Digital Delights products, I have made him a card. I tried not to go too girly, and hope that he will accept the flowers on there! I may have to rethink, although I don't have much time. I have used Love birds and a sentiment from the wedding and anniversary sentiments set. The orange paper is by K and co and the blue is blueberry pie by Papermania.

Have good rest of the week.

I have finally used it

Hi all,

Hopefully Mr Blogger is playing nicely as this is my first scheduled post. We will be in Norfolk, hopefully enjoying some wonderful weather this week.

Over at Incy Wincy the theme this week is something old, something new, and we are sponsored by the wonderful Digital Delights. Wendy is offering 3 digis to the lucky winner. For my card, I have used Laid back Lucy. Mmm... do you think I will have the chance to do this on our holiday? The papers are my something new, by Echo Park, and the ribbon is my something old. I have had it for years. Hop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the projects from the DT.

It can't be Autumn yet!

Hi all,

I have no idea what we are doing today, apart from getting ready for our holiday on Saturday. I'll just see what the weather is like and decide then.

It's Thursday, so I'm here to showcase some digis from Digital Delights. Wendy has a wonderful new release today - Fall kids, Prairie kids, papers and accessories. These would be wonderful for any Autumn project and I just love the sunflower fence. I have made a new (for me) shape of card, although I'm not sure if I will make it again. I have used Fall girl, dog and accessories by Digital Delights. You can buy them from here. The paper is by Hot off the Press.

Have a good rest of the week.

The jury's still out

Hi all,

I know, three cards from me in three days. What is the world coming to? We went to meet an ex work colleague of mine today who I haven't seen since we got back and spent some time in a park for the girls. It was lovely to catch up and to make the most of the sun we had.

As we are away on holiday next week in Norfolk, I thought I would try and take part in the Stamp Fairy challenge this week as I may not be doing it next week. Well, this week it is a colour challenge - purple, turquoise and pink. I'm really not sure about this mix myself, although I like the colours individually, so maybe it will grow on me. I didn't have much turquoise in my stash and so I nearly gave up, until I saw this paper by Nitwits and decided to try a Christmas card. I have used a freebie Stamp Fairy image called Oscar. I love him and chose it as it reminds me of when Daisy made a snow bunny with hubby a couple of years ago. I did think of leaving him as a polar bear, but didn't want too much white on the image. I have shaded the snow bear, but it doesn't show much on the photo. I have also added pink sparkly snowflakes from a 12 by 12 sheet. I'm sorry for all the waffle today, I'll let you go now!
I would also like to enter Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Christmas in August.

Edited to say - Oops, sorry, I had posted the wrong card. This is the correct one now!

It's summertime (in case you couldn't guess)

Hi all,

Martha has just set off with hubby for nursery and so Daisy and I will be together today. Yesterday, we went swimming and then the neighbour's two children came around for the rest of the day. They visit their Dad (our neighbour) a few days every week and Daisy loves playing with them. As it wasn't too nice weather yesterday, they ended up making necklaces and bracelets and getting out some craft stuff to play with, as well as taking every toy out to play with. I don't mind, as it keeps Daisy occupied.

Today we have a new challenge at our new Creative Craft challenge blog. We have some fabulous sponsors this week - Some Odd Girl and Rainbow Studios. Our challenge this fortnight is Summertime, so we want to see your summer inspired projects. I have made two cards this week. The first uses Summer Mae from Some Odd Girl. The papers are from my new Echo Park pad. I love these bright, summery colours.

This card uses Introducing Alfie by Rainbow Studios and papers by K and Co and DCWV.

Check out the wonderful projects by the rest of the DT.

Have a lovely day.

A splash of purple!

Hi all,

We had a lovely day yesterday. We went to Housesteads Roman Fort, which is on Hadrian's wall. Daisy loved it and it was great to see parts of the fort and imagine how people used to live. We then went to collect a few more boxes from my in-laws attic. We are slowly getting organised and finding spaces for it all. Today Martha is at nursery so Daisy and I will find things to do together.

So today it's another challenge at Incy Wincy. This week we are sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs. This week we would like your projects to be monochromatic. I have used Little Masquerade by Floppy Latte and have chosen purple as my colour (surprise, surprise!) I have added leaves, flowers and feathers from my stash.
