Hi all,
I think we have had our good weather this year! After a few days of sun, it is now raining again. My supply teaching went well this week and now I am starting to get the house clean, etc after being out every night with the performances. This weekend, hubby's middle brother is coming up with his family and we are going to the Jubilee celebrations in the village on Sunday. There is a parade (we need to make costumes for the girls - aagh!), games, stalls and then food in the village hall. There is a family ceilidh in the evening, with a fish and chip supper. I'm really looking forward to it, so I hope the weather will be kind.
Over at CRAFT this week, we are sponsored by My heart pieces, eyeCandie Creations and Saturated Canary. Our theme is background text. I love all the text papers, stamps around at the moment, so was pleased to have a go. I have used a wonderful image by Saturated Canary and the papers are by My Mind's Eye. I have had the little bells for years, and hadn't known what to do with them until now. The flowers were made from punched scallop circles.
I would like to enter this into the following:
Make it Monday - always anything goes
Cooking it up with Katie - celebrate with ribbon and a die cut
LEJ Designs - Ribbons galore (I know I only have 1 ribbon - if more is needed, please delete my entry)
Top Tip Tuesday- Dig out the old - bell and ribbon.

Red, white and blue.
Hi all,
Just a quick one tonight. I'm sorry I don't have anything to show as I just haven't had a lot of time to create with the show, supply work and feeling a bit grotty (I think I caught some bugs off Daisy and Martha - how kind of them to share). Anyway, over at Creative Craft this fortnight, we are sponsored by Crafty Individuals and The Stamping Boutique. Our theme is a patriotic one - red, white and blue. I hope you can join us.
See you later this week.

Climb every mountain
Hi all,
The sound of music had it's last night on Saturday, where we had a standing ovation! The main characters were all fantastic and did so well to be so energetic for 8 performances. I now have a bit of a sore throat, so I won't be doing too much talking for a while, although I have two day's supply teaching today and tomorrow and might need my voice for that.

Our theme is vintage. Usually, when I do vintage, it's in browns, so I decided to get away from this and use pink instead. The image is a stamp by Wild Rose Studio called In the Meadow, and it is sold in the Care2Stamp shop. I have distressed the edges of the paper with Victorian Velvet. The postcard was given to me ages ago. I bought some frames a while ago and didn't realise they were so small and couldn't think what to do with them. I thought I could ink them and use it to frame the sentiment. The inked trim is from an old skirt I had that was too tatty to go to a charity shop.
See you tomorrow.

A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
Hi all,
I hope you are having a good week. I am really busy at the moment, so sorry if I haven't got around to visiting you, but I promise I will this weekend. The show is till on until Saturday and it is going very well. I won't know what to do with myself in an evening once it is over!
Over at CRAFT this week, we have a recipe for you. Here it is:
For my card, I have used an image called 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend' by Sassy Design Studios, one of our sponsors this week. I had this all ready to photograph and then realised that I hadn't added a tag or any glitter, which was good going considering the recipe! Anyway, it is sorted now. The papers are by Prima. They aren't colours I normally go for, but I love the papers so thought I would try it.
See you soon.

Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
Hi all,
Our first three performances of The Sound of Music went really well, and I am so glad that I had Sunday and now today off to get some rest before we start again on Tuesday until Saturday. Daisy had her first rehearsal yesterday for Oliver (she and I are both in it). We don't have the show until November, but the director wanted to meet the children a few times before the holiday, because then we will only have a couple of months to rehearse.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by:
who are offering the winner 7 digis from their store. Our them this week is to use Kraft and 1 other colour. I went for orange and have used a lovely silhouette image by Bugaboo Stamps. The papers are more magazine freebies and the gems are ones I bought years ago when I first started making cards and don't use much now.
See you later this week.

Pink elephants on parade
Hi all,
I am so tired this week. We had our first two dress rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday night and I didn't get home until 11.30 both times. We have another dress rehearsal tonight and then the show starts on Friday. I'm not sure how I'll cope with another week of this!
Thank you to everyone who took part in the CRAFT blog hop. The winners are posted on the challenge blog now, so hop over to check if you are one of them. This week, we are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique, Crimson Cloud and Bugaboo Stamps. Our theme is 'easel cards' - quite an easy one for you all, I think. I have used an wonderful Bugaboo image called elephant paisley silhouette and I have gone a bit pink. I cute the shapes with my nesties, added some flowers and gems and used a large brad to keep the easel part up. Please check out the projects by the rest of the fab DT.

Hi all,
Yesterday I tried on my costumes for The Sound of Music. The nun's one was a bit scary when I looked in the mirror! I took Daisy with me and she was a bit afraid of the 20 odd nuns wondering around! It's the first dress rehearsal tonight, so it might be a long one.
Over at Creative Craft this fortnight, we are sponsored by the wonderful LOTV. Our theme is distressing. I love the distressed look, but sometimes get a bit carried away with it. I sanded some coredinations card and distressed that and the papers with my scissors. The papers are by papermania and Summertime Designs. The flowers were made using a scalloped punch and the cute image is by LOTV. I have been veering towards more monochromatic cards lately, and thought I would try brown - not a colour I often use on its own, but I quite like it. I did have to add a yellow flame and pink icing though - I couldn't bring myself to make them brown! Please check out the fab projects by the rest of the DT.
See you soon.

You are my sunshine
If you are here for the CRAFT blog hop, please click here.
Hi all,
I hope you had a good weekend. It didn't rain on Saturday, so we went out and had a lovely walk in the woods. On Sunday, though, it was so windy, we stayed indoors. Tonight I am off to collect my costumes for The Sound of Music. We have three dress rehearsals this week, and then the show starts this Friday.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by
who are offering 3 digis to the lucky winner. Our theme is the weather, so your project needs to portray this in some way. I have used a happy sun image from the Barbeque accessories pack by Digital Delights. The papers are by Echo park. At least I can dream about the summer, even if the weather isn't helping me.
I will see you tomorrow.

Fluffy flowers
If you are here for the CRAFT blog hop, please click here.
Hi all,
I hope you have had a good week. I enjoyed looking at the portraits at Daisy's school on Tuesday. It was great to see what everyone used. I went to a Jamie Oliver at home party on Wednesday at a friend's house. There were lots of kitchen gadgets and oven ware there, but I was quite good and only bought two things. We have so many unused kitchen gadgets in our cupboards, I didn't think hubby would be too happy if I bought even more! The weather has been awful for most of the week. Let's hope it clears up for the weekend.
Onto my card. I have really enjoyed using my 'proper' stamps and hopefully will have some time to do more soon. For this card, I resist stamped a Penny Black flower image, and also stamped it in pink on the background, which is inked with Victorian Velvet Distress ink. I have also used a SU script stamp and a Debbi Moore stamp I have had for years, but never used. The papers are more magazine freebies. I pleated some organza ribbon. I have never done this before, and it was less of a faff than I thought it would be. The flowers are made from very soft net that I had in my stash and the sentiment was stamped using my Studio G alphabet stamps.

this challenge:
One of my friends recently gave birth to a little boy (and so I needed a celebration card, great for this challenge!), and I thought that this fantastic image from Digi Doodle Shop would fit the bill for an easel card. The papers are a mix of papermania and from a CD which was free with a magazine. For the sentiment, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder, inked it and then cut out the sentiment I wanted. The embellishments are all from my stash.
Your next
stop will be Tigerlover. Hope you are having fun!
Enjoy the rest of our blog hop!
I'll be back with my normal waffle tomorrow.

Feeling blue
Hi all,
Yes, I know, another post already. Well, Daisy is at school, Martha at nursery, and I have done all the housework, etc, so I thought I would post another of my inky creations. I am off later to the opening night (afternoon) of the Portrait Exhibition at Daisy's school. If you missed my post about it a while ago, all the school had homework to make a portrait. Daisy went for the collage effect, and now the school is having an exhibition all this week to show off the art work, but as today is the opening day, there are drinks and nibbles provided. Daisy was desperate for me to come today for the food! Then, this evening, I have another rehearsal for The Sound of Music. We only have two weeks left before the show. Aaagh!
Anyway, on to the card. I have used a TH stamp and then used stamps from a Kaisercraft set and put on 3D pads to add depth. I have distressed all the paper and then added blue twine. As easy as that!
See you soon.
I would like to enter this into the following:

Going dotty
Hi all,
I hope you had a good weekend. We spent the weekend chilling at my inlaws. We met some friends on Saturday. The men watched the football (I do watch it, but only if Southampton or England are playing) and the kids played, leaving my friend and I to chat! Then, we fed the ducks on Sunday and then spent forever at the play park. We were making the most of it not raining. We went to a soft play today. I was surprised that it wasn't that busy, but the girls made the most of the space.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by the Digi Garden, who very kindly gave us some images to play with. Our theme this week is spots and dots. I chose this cute little monster. I have used paper by Stamp Fairy and the buttons are from the Works. Please check out the rest of the projects from the DT.

Flower power
Hi all,
Well, it's the weekend, nearly. We are off to my in laws this weekend to see them and visit friends nearby. They're only an hour away, but we thought it would be good to stay over and spend some time with them. Daisy is very excited about this as she loves having someone else to play with and boss around!.
My card is another one that I made on my inky Tuesday. I clear embossed the image (by Penny Black), and then inked the card. The paper is by Hot off the press and the background images are from a free stamp set from a magazine.
I hope you have a good weekend, and if you have a Bank Holiday Monday too, you enjoy it! See you Monday.

Button it!
Hi all,
I hope you are having a good week. Today, Martha and i are off to Daisy's school as they have invited parents in to help make banners with the children and Daisy really wants me to go. I'm not sure how long we will stay as Martha has the potential to create chaos!
I would like to apologise as Blogger is being a pain and isn't letting me post comments on any blog if they have the word verification on. I write the comment, decipher the words and then get a page saying Page Not Found, and I have typed the words correctly and done it a few times, but still no joy. So, sorry to any of you that this applies to. I am reading your posts and trying to comment, but it isn't playing.
Over at CRAFT, this week, we are sponsored by In2Stamps, Digi Doodle Shop and Love to Stamp. Our theme is to use buttons. Now, I really should find other ways to use buttons than just stick them on as a button, if you see what I mean. The image is a Little Darlings rubber stamp by Love to Stamp and is called Every stocking counts. The papers are more magazine freebies and the tree trim has been in my ribbon box for years just waiting to come out. Please check out the fab projects from the rest of the DT. See you tomorrow, hopefully.

I'd do anything
Hi all,
Well, the week has started how last week ended - with rain. I managed to put the canes up for the beans and peas in between showers yesterday, so I feel I have achieved something, as well as the usual Monday housework, shopping, etc!
Over at Creative Craft, we are sponsored by Love to Stamp and Crafty Individuals. This fortnight, our theme is Anything Goes. I decided to go back to 'proper' stamping for this card. I used stamps by Kaisercraft, Tim Holtz and SU. I kept the backing paper plain as my stamping is pretty busy! Please check out the rest of the fab projects by the DT.
See you later in the week.
I would like to enter this into the following:
Make it Monday - Always anything goes

Craft your passion - lots of texture
Truly Madly Crafty - handmade flowers
Victorine originals - flowers
