... and a partridge in a pear tree!

Hi all,
Well, it's Thursday already and still raining!  It managed to be nice until after we had put up the girls' playhouse, but it then rained so much that they haven't been able to play in it yet.  Daisy is off to a friend's house for tea after school so it's just me and Martha for most of the day.  We will probably go to a den building morning that the school is holding and inviting parents along.  Daisy wants me to go, so I will brave it if it isn't too yucky outside.
Over at CRAFT, we are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique, My Creative Classroom, Truly Madly Crafty and Flonz.  Our theme is feathers/birds and I have used Four calling birds by The Stamping Boutique.  The papers are by My Mind's Eye and the sentiment stamp is another magazine freebie.  Check out the rest of the DT projects for some fab inspiration.
See you later.

Tweet, tweet

Hi all,
I'm doing supply work this morning and then I am hoping the weather will be good as hubby wants to take the afternoon off to put up a playhouse we bought for the girls to use outside in the summer (what summer?)
Over at Creative Craft this fortnight, we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish, and our theme is to include birds on your project.  I have used an image by our sponsor, and paper pieced it with Basic Grey Wisteria paper.

In olden days, a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking, but now ...

Hi all,
I hope you had a lovely weekend.  As always, we were quite busy.  Hubby was playing the organ for two weddings on Saturday, so I took the girls swimming in the morning and then Daisy had her drama lesson in the afternoon.  On Sunday, Daisy had a dance show at a local arts festival.  They were dancing by the beach.  It rained all morning, stopped for the 30 minutes the girls were dancing, and then rained again!  It was lovely to see the show and Daisy really enjoyed it.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by Fantastic Ribbons, who are offering 4 rolls of ribbon to the winner.  Our theme is anything goes (which you may have got from my rather obscure title!)  I decided to get a bit messy, so used a Christmassy vintage image by Nicecrane designs and inked the edges of all the papers with distress inks.  The background is using glimmer mists and the sentiment was a freebie stamp from a magazine.
See you later.

Have a heart!

Hi all,
Thanks for your get well wishes for Daisy.  She went back to school yesterday and was very pleased to see her friends again.  I just hope Martha doesn't catch it now.  Yesterday, it was a lovely day, so we went to toddlers in the morning and then went to lunch with some of the mums and children.  I usually like to plan my days, so it was quite nice to do something on a whim!  We enjoyed ourselves so much, I nearly forgot to get back in time to collect Daisy from the bus.  The weather is now back to summer weather - rain!

Over at CRAFT this week, we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Digital stamps, Fantastic ribbons and Little Darling Rubber Stamps.  We have a colour challenge for you:
I had a bit of trouble finding papers for this, but finally found some by Dana Zarling and matched it with magazine freebie papers.  The image is Berry Fairy by Beary Dust and I found the ribbon lurking in my ribbon tin and thought it would work perfectly.
See you later.

Pop!

Hi all,
Daisy has been off school for the last two days, as she was feeling sick.  I am hoping she will be back tomorrow as I don't like her missing too much and she did seem back to normal this afternoon.  I have spent a lot of time with her as she doesn't like to be alone when she is ill, even if she is watching TV.  So, I had a bit of time to do some crafting.
For my card, I have used a Hero Arts poppy background stamp.  I have resist stamped it and added magazine freebie papers.

Another use for a watering can (with all the rain, it isn't needed to water my plants!)

Hi all,
I hope you had a lovely weekend.  Hubby and I went to a beer festival on Saturday evening.  We met some friends there and had a great time.  Today, we spent some time with the inlaws and then chilled at home.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by Delicious Doodles.  Our fab teamie, Samantha, has done another great sketch for you.  Looking at my card now, I think I should have put a sentiment on it, but didn't think of it before as I rarely have sentiments on my card.  That way, they can be used for many different occasions.
See you later.

What! No image?

Hi all,
Well, the weekend has nearly arrived.  It's been raining all day, but Martha and I went to Singing Tots this morning and then she had a nap, so I took the time to make this card.
There is another great sketch at Feeling Sketchy this week, but when I first saw it, I was a bit scared, as there is a lot of blank space and no image specified.  I know I could have included an image, but I have decided to keep the sketch more as it was designed, as it is a bigger challenge for me.  I have used Basic Grey papers from the Wisteria paper pack and the flower is using four sheets of tissue paper cut with my scalloped nesties.  I still think there is a lot of empty space, but I am learning to leave well alone!
Have a lovely weekend.

Number 1

Hi all,
I hope you are having a good week.  I had work today at my favourite little school to supply in (only 30 in the whole school), so Martha looked after Grandma and Grandad today!  They seemed to have a lovely time.
Over at CRAFT this week, we are sponsored by Meljen's Designs, Scrapper's Delights and Bugaboo Stamps.  Our theme is Father's Day, as it is this Sunday over here.  The girls have already made their own cards for hubby, so I decided to make a tag for them to put on his present.  I'm not sure what it is yet, as we haven't had time to go and get something.  Hubby doesn't really want a fuss about it, but Daisy won't let him get away without having something - probably chocolates so she can have them!  The image is by Meljen's Designs.
I hope you have a good rest of the week.

Gold and Cream

Hi all,
Just a quick one to say that Creative Craft have a new challenge today, which is sponsored by Crafty Individuals and Stamping Dragon Designs.  The theme is cream and gold.  It isn't my team's turn to make inspiration although I usually make something for every challenge, but I have been a bit busy and also don't have many gold or cream things in my stash as I rarely use these colours.  Don't forget to check out the wonderful projects by the DT on the challenge blog.

Dreaming of summer

Hi all,
I hope you had a good weekend.  We met some friends who live down south and were up visiting family, which was lovely and then on Sunday we went to another fair.  More rides!  I am late posting this today, as I had a phone call at 8.20 from the supply agency asking me to work this morning.  So, once I got Daisy on the school bus, I travelled to the school and got there by just after 9.  I had a good morning, but by the time I had got home, had lunch and emptied the dishwasher, it was time to collect Daisy, so I didn't get any of my planned things done.  Maybe I will do it tomorrow.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by Stamp Fairy.  I enjoyed playing with these wonderful digis again as I have a few.  Our theme is to use more than one digi.  The sun, fence, swing and little girl are all by Stamp Fairy and the tree is by Two peas in a bucket.  I had a bit of trouble merging the stamps, but luckily hubby could help me.  The paper is by Echo Park and the handmade paper is by Pie Lane.

On the last day of September

Hi all,
This week has gone so quickly.  It must be the two bank holidays.  It was pouring with rain yesterday, so we went to a soft play.  The girls loved it, but both fell asleep on the way home.  Maybe them getting up at 5.45am had something to do with it!
Over at CRAFT thie week, we are sponsored by Crimson Cloud, Floppy Latte, Trimgym's digital stamp and papers and Flonz, a new rubber stamp company.  Our theme is to create a project for a male.  I have used Ship 3 by Floppy Latte for my card and I have used a sketch from Feeling Sketchy, a relatively new challenge blog.  The sketch is very clean and simple, not a style I do much or well, but I thought I would have a go.  I still feel the card is a bit plain, but I have left well alone!  I have inked the edges of the papers and inked the scrabble tiles so they weren't so stark.

Fit for a princess (or two)!

Hi all,
I hope you are having a lovely weekend, or long weekend if that applies to you!  It's been lovely having hubby around for four days and the girls won't know what to do tomorrow when he is back at work and it is just them and me.  Daisy is on half term, so we will have to find things to do in the day.  Our weekend was wonderful, and the girls had fun at the show in Corbridge on Monday.  Martha had her first go on some fair rides and loved them all.  Unfortunately I had to go on with her and I'm not so keen on the spinning tea cups!  Today, we just chilled at home as both girls were shattered.
As I said yesterday, the girls made crowns at a crown workshop held in the village on Saturday.  Daisy chose to make the most difficult - but impressive - one.  The frame is made from willow, bent and taped down.  We had to leave for a party before she had finished, so we took all the materials home to finish later. Daisy decided that she didn't want to use the blue and yellow material that she was given, so had a rummage through my fabric boxes and chose pink and silver.  The ball is polystyrene, covered in some of my pink and silver glitter, and Daisy wanted a blue heart for the top.  Here is her crown:
Martha also made a crown, but chose a more simple one, from blue foam and stuck sequins on:

A few weeks ago, Daisy's school had a bunting making day, where the parents were asked to come along to.  Martha and I went and saw Daisy creating a music themed piece.  Martha was also given a piece to decorate.  At the celebrations on Sunday, the bunting was hanging in the food tent, so I had to find the girls' ones and took a picture.  Here they are:
I will see you later this week.

Could you fall asleep on a tree?

Hi all,
I hope you had a lovely weekend.  We had the village jubilee celebrations yesterday, which were wonderful.  The girls joined in the parade, wearing crowns they had made (I might post them up tomorrow if I remember) and then took part in races and games laid on for the children.  Their cousins came up and lots of Daisy's school friends were there, so it was a fab time - really relaxed.  There was a tea party in the hall and then a game of bingo.  We left as the ceilidh was in full swing, as Martha was flagging a bit.  We are off to the Northumberland show in Corbridge today, as my inlaws live there and there is a mini fair as well as animals, stalls, etc, so another exciting and tiring day, I think.
Well, onto my card.  Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by Just some lines, who gave the DT some images to play with.  Our theme is blue and black with a sentiment for a boy or man, a bit of a mouthful, but quite easy when you think about it!  My image is by Just some lines, the handmade paper is by Pie Lane and the DP is by papermania and a digi download (I'm not sure where from).
Please check out the projects by the rest of the DT.
See you later.
