Inspired by nature

Hi all,

I hope those of you with Bank Holidays this weekend are enjoying the extra day off. What a shame the weather hasn't been better. Hubby's middle brother and family have been up this weekend. It's been lovely to see them as they have a 6 year old daughter who Daisy just adores. We haven't seen them all weekend as they have been off playing. Martha has enjoyed the attention too as she hadn't met them before so is getting lots of cuddles. We are off to the local show today, where there are fair rides for the kiddies and animals, etc, so it should be a good day.

It's time for another Incy Wincy challenge and this week we are sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads, who gave the DT some fab images to work with. The theme this week is nature, so anything inspired by the outdoors will be fab. The papers are from the DCWV garden party stack. I love these papers and they have lasted me ages, but I'm now down to my last few sheets. Check out the fab projects from the rest of the DT.

CRAFT challenge

Hi all,

I'm sorry I'm a day late for this post, but we have had internet problems and they have just got sorted. I'm now planning on doing a good old blog hop as I am sure I have missed lots. I apologise if some of you have been waiting for my winner of last week's CRAFT blog hop, but here it is, better late than never. I had 30 wonderful comments, and so Mr Random.org chose 21. That's you, Esme. Well done, you have won 4 images from Lauretta's digital stamps store. If you email craftchallenge@yahoo.co.uk, they will sort you out with your prize.

This is my last week as GDT for CRAFT. Thank you so much for a wonderful month. I have really enjoyed myself. This week, the challenge is Alter/Recycle and it is sponsored by the fab Meljen's designs. My card uses a sweet Meljen's image called birthday cake mouse. The frame was recycled from a Webster's Pages net package and I thought it would be great to frame an image. The background has been done with my glimmer mists. Please check out the fab projects by the DT on the blog.

What colours?

Hi all,

I hope you are having a good week. We are slowly getting back to normal. Hubby picked up our new (to us!) car today. It's quite big but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Daisy started pre school today. Hopefully she will settle in soon. Martha and I then went to visit a nursery for Martha. It seemed lovely, so I hope there will be a space for her.

This fortnight on Creative Crafts, we are sponsored by Stamping Dragon Designs, Whiff of Joy and Crafts and me, who are offering a stamp called Refresh by Sara Burrier. We have a colour challenge for you. We would like you to use blue, brown and cream. You may wonder why I am showing a pink, brown and cream card, but I made it a while ago when I had my stash and then realised it was the wrong colour combination. Ooops! I've decided to show it to you anyway. The digi is by Limited Runs - one of her fab cupcakes. Please check out the challenge blog and see the cards with the correct colour scheme!

Not so sleepy now

Hi all,

As I said in my previous post, we all arrived safely on Tuesday afternoon. We stayed at my in laws for the week as we didn't know what state our house would be in after the tenants and we also don't have many belongings and have been living out of suitcases. We are just getting over our jet lag. We moved to the house today after a couple of days of cleaning and sorting. Our air freight will arrive some time this week so at least I will have some craft things. The rest of our stuff won't be here for 2 months. Daisy had her first school visit on Thursday and it was all a bit daunting I think, but she has a few more visits before she starts properly in September.

It's time for another challenge at Incy Wincy. We are sponsored by Sassy Studio designs, and the theme is lavender and lace. I love purple and so had no trouble finding materials for this one. I have used a Sassy Studio image and the paper is by Dovecraft. The fab lace is by Wild Orchid. Please check out the other fab projects by the rest of the DT.

CRAFT challenge blog hop

Hi all,

We arrived safely in England yesterday, but I will say more about our trip in my next post, as this one is already quite long. This is my third week of my GDT spot for CRAFT challenge, and this week we have something a bit special for you.

This week at CRAFT Challenge we are celebrating our 2nd Blogaversary in style. Our challenge this week is Happy Birthday! (to Us) to fit in with this celebration. Please link your project to InLinkz as per usual.
To celebrate we will also will be doing a Blogaversary Blog Hop with many sponsors and prizes on the way. To be in with having a chance of winning these prizes, you will need to leave a comment on our (G)DT's blogs, a winner will be chosen randomly at each stop.
We will also leave a word at each stop, with which we would like you to form a sentence. So, don't forget to collect a word on each stop as well! After you have collected all these words, form a sentence with them and enter your sentence in a comment on our CRAFT Challenge blog. We will obviously not allow comments to be posted during this week to stop any cheating, lol!
You should have started at CRAFT Challenge and come from Kim' blog. If you did not, please go back to the stops before you have so far not passed.
My word is: have

My sponsor for the blog hop is Lauretta's Digital Stamps, and the prize you can win on my stop is a choice of 4 images from her shop. My card uses one of her images, called Hippo birthday and I love it. I made an easel as I haven't made one for a while. The DP is quite glittery and so I
thought it would be perfect for a special celebration.

Just as a reminder, here is your route to follow. You should start and end at the CRAFT Challenge blog.

Simples.

Hi all,
This is a scheduled post, so hopefully blogger will be nice to me and post it at the correct time. We will be flying back to England as you read this, and I'm just hoping the girls will sleep some of the way or it will be a very long 21 hours!

It's Monday and so time for another Incy Wincy challenge. This time we are sponsored by Digital Delights and the theme is Clean and Simple. I find these quite hard, but I used a lovely image from digital delights and just added paper, pearls and some lace. It looks bare to me, but I managed to leave it alone. Please hop over and check the fab projects from the rest of the DT.

He's a star man

Hi all,

We went around to a friend's house today and the girls had a ball. Daisy then had her hair cut (Martha doesn't need to worry about that for a while yet - she only has a tiny bit of hair showing) and is very proud of her new do.

It's the second week of my GDT spot for CRAFT. This week the theme is aliens/space and the sponsor is Truly Madly Crafty, who are offering a £5 voucher to their shop. For my card, I have used Billy Rocket and a sentiment by Digital Delights. I made this card with a friend of Daisy's in mind who is obsessed by space. His birthday is in September, so I am at least being a bit organised! The planets were made using chalk and suitable circle templates (a technique I got from Mr Maker, the children's art programme). Check out the projects from the DT, all fab.

Not too distressed

Hi all,

Well, the girls had a lovely last day in kindy. Daisy made cards for her teachers. In the rush I forgot to take photos of them, but they loved them. Daisy and Martha both came home with big cards with photos of their friends on. I think we will have to frame them when we get back to England.

It's time for another Creative Craft challenge. Our theme is distressed/vintage. I don't usually do vintage as I find it difficult, but I thought I would have a bit of both themes in my card. I distressed the edges of the card and paper and used a doily. I have seen them on many wonderful cards and thought I would try. Check out the creations from the rest of the fab DT.

A bit girly

Hi all,

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for another week. We moved into the serviced appartment yesterday for our last week here and the packers came to the house today and packed our Sydney life into little boxes. I have to go back tomorrow and clean everywhere, although I'm borrowing a hoover as ours got packed! Last week was hard as everything was being sold around us, but at least we have furniture this week.

It's Monday, so time for another Incy Wincy challenge. This week we would like to see a girlie/mother's day project. We are sponsored by the wonderful Kenny K. I have chosen Bathing Beauty by Kenny K and have gone for a lilac scheme. While I was sorting out I found these papers (by Dovecraft I think) I had ages ago and thought I would give them an airing.

Have a great day.

How long?

Hi all,

Yes, it's Friday! We spent the day out today. Daisy wanted to go to the Powerhouse museum this morning. IT's got so many things to do for kids, she loves it there and she is now just starting to get interested in the exhibits too. Then, Daisy had her dance lesson and we then met some friends at the park. We also had dinner out, mainly because all our furniture has now been sold and we have borrowed some camping furniture from friends, but it isn't as nice as it could be. Anyway, not long now, just two days until we move out.

I know, three posts in as many days. What am I thinking of? My in-laws celebrated their Ruby Wedding anniversary this week, and in the madness, I forgot to make a card. Anyway, better late than never. The couple image is from Delicious Doodles and I can't find where the heart or sentiment come from. If I remember, I'll let you know. The DP is Dovecraft and I covered a chipboard frame in braid. I quite like it. Hubby approved, so it must be ok!

CRAFT GDT

Hi all,
I hope you are having a good day. We went to a friend's house today who we haven't seen for a while. It was nice to catch up and Daisy and Martha loved the park we went to.
I know it's unusual to have me posting on a Thursday, but I was honoured to be asked to be GDT again for CRAFT challenge for May. Of course I said yes. This week there's a fab sketch by Kevin, one of the DT. The sponsor this week is Digis with Attitude, who are offering a $10 CAD gift certificate to their shop for the winner. I have used Camping Tween and also a DWA sentiment. I went quite bright for this card and used paper by Dovecraft. Hop over to the challenge blog to see the fab makes from the DT.

Shake it, baby!

Hi all,

Well, half way through the week already. We spent most of the day at a friend's house as the agents had people coming to view this one and I didn't fancy staying around for it. My friend has children nearly the same age as my two, so it was nice they each had a friend to play with.
Stamp Fairy have a fab challenge this week to make a shaker card. I think they look great fun, so had a go. I decided to make a star one, as most I have seen are square or circle and I don't like to make things easy for myself! I have added seed beads and three star gems. I love the cute Stamp Fairy images and this one is Fairy Linda. The papers are by imaginisce. This may be my last entry into a Stamp Fairy challenge for a little while as my stash goes next Monday, but hopefully I will be back soon as I have entered quite a few of these now and they have all been such fun.

Do you?

Hi all,

Well, today's been a bit weird as our furniture is being sold here (we have a fully furnished house back in England) and so the bed, chests of drawers, one sofa and heaters have already gone and we are waiting for someone to pick up the TV tonight. Well, it means I might have more time to blog hop or craft! I'll be glad when this bit is over and we are settled in the appartment for next week.

It's time for another Incy Wincy challenge and this week we would like a wedding/engagement themed project in honour of the Royal Wedding last Friday. We are sponsored by Karen's Doodles and the DT were lucky to have an image to play with. I have use a cute image called I do. I've gone quite simple here, using papers by Papermania (I think) and flowers from Wild Orchid.

Have a great day.
