Somewhere over the rainbow ...

Hi all,
Well, it has finally stopped raining and Daisy's school is now open, although the kitchen can't cook school lunches as a result of some flood damage, so everyone is on packed lunches.  This doesn't affect Daisy as she always takes a packed lunch anyway.  Martha and I went to a soft play this morning and now she is having a nap.
Over at CRAFT, our theme is to make your own embellishments.  I have used an image called Dorothy Honey by Sassy Studio designs, which is one of our sponsors.  The paper is by echo park and the flowers are my own punched circles and then rolled up technique!  I have used the fab sketch by Feeling Sketchy.  I have rotated it to better fit my image.  I would like to thank the ladies at Feeling Sketchy for choosing my circular snowman card for one of their top four.

Rain, rain go away

Hi all,
The weather has been awful up here.  I drove Martha to her nursery in Morpeth this morning and had to drive through lots of floods on the way only to find when we got there that the nursery was on a red flood warning as it is next to the river and it was shut.  All the staff were running around trying to move the furniture, etc out of the lower rooms and into safety.  We then drove home to find Daisy was still home with hubby (who was working from home), as her school was shut as the roads and fields around it were flooded.
As it was raining all day, we stayed inside, but we had a lot of builders here creating noise and dust, so we played games, made things and watched a DVD.  I was meant to be going to a rehearsal tonight but I didn't fancy driving anywhere, so I thought I would pop on here.
I made this bag a few weeks ago and forgot to post it. I have seen a lot of Union flag patterns in different colours, and thought I would make one in purple. The purple linen is from Lithuania when we visited there about 8 years ago!  The patterned fabric is from one of Martha's old tops and the white lace came from an old skirt of mine.

You've got a friend

Hi all,
I hope you had a good weekend.  The builders came on Saturday and knocked the wall down between the kitchen and new orangery and left it covered in thick dust.  There were dust sheets put down, but the dust just got everywhere anyway.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by Fantastic Ribbons and Mayzy Art stamps and our theme is Friends.  The image is by Mayzy Art Stamps and the papers are all from my scrap box.  The felt flowers were free with a magazine a while ago, and I am running out of them now, so will need to find out where I can get more.
See you later.

Can't catch me!

Hi all,
I'm sorry I'm a day late with this post, but I've got a horrible cold and don't quite feel myself, so I forgot.  Oooops!
Over at CRAFT this week, we are sponsored by Bugaboo stamps, Stitchy Stamps and Trimgyms digi papers and images.  Our theme is children, and I have used a sweet image by Stitchy Stamps called Catch me.  I have followed the fab sketch from Feeling Sketchy and have decided that I really should make more circular cards.  The paper is by Nitwits and the rest is from my stash.
See you later.

Just a note

 Hi all,
I hope you are having a good day.  I am having a quick break from the housework, as I am not working today (the beginning of a school term is always slow work-wise for me).  Yesterday, the builders came around again to continue with the business of extending our house.  The orangery is now up and we are waiting for the glass roof which is coming tomorrow.  Then, the wall between the kitchen and the orangery will be knocked down.  Once that is done, I need to get decorating.  I hope to get it all done by Christmas, but with work, looking after the girls and crafting (of course) I'm not sure how much time I will have.
Over at Creative Craft this fortnight, we are sponsored by Bugaboo.  Our theme is anything goes, and as usual, I had trouble deciding what to do.  I wanted to do something different from a card, and settled on a post-it note holder.  The image is by Bugaboo, the paper is by Basic Grey, and the flowers were made from a scalloped circle, which I cut and rolled.  I keep thinking I should get one of the proper flower dies, but as this works for me, I'm not sure about spending the money!  I wrote on the blackboard with a pink chalk.

Green, green and more green!

Hi all,
Well, it's the start of another week.  Daisy and I had another rehearsal yesterday and I found time to make two more owls which were requested - one for a friend's Mum and another for Daisy's friend who comes at the weekend to stay with her Dad who lives next door.
Over at Incy wincy this week, we are sponsored by Care2Stamp and our theme is monochrome green.  I don't use green an awful lot, but I do like how this turned out.  I'm not sure about the green hair, but I figured as she is a fairy, then it would be ok!
See you tomorrow.

The owl with no name

Hi all,
I hope you are having a good weekend.  It's been sunny here, so we spent today outside playing.
A week or so ago, I posted a picture of Charlotte, an owl I made for Daisy and said that Martha saw it and wanted one.  Well, here is her owl.  She hasn't thought of a name yet, but has started calling her owly, just as her mouse is mousey, etc!  The body is made from one of Martha's old T-shirts and the rest is from my stash.
See you later.  I'm off to watch Dr Who, which we recorded earlier.

Falling leaves

Hi all,
This week has gone so quickly.  Martha and I are off to meet some friends today and then tomorrow I am working and Martha is going with Daddy to get our new car.  I bet she will love that!
Over at CRAFT this week,  we are sponsored by Digital Delights, Eyecandie creations, Trimgym's digistamps and images and LEJ Designs.  Our theme is Autumn.  I have used Fall girl by Digital Delights.  The paper is by Hot off the Press and I have followed this week's sketch by Feeling Sketchy.  I would also like to saw thank you to Feeling Sketchy for choosing my vintage ladies card for the top 4.
See you later.

Have you guessed what it was yet?

Hi all,
As the girls are at school and nursery, and I don't have a supply teaching job today, I thought I would pop on here before getting all my other jobs done.
I had been wanting to make one of these bags for ages and finally got around to it in my fit of sewing madness.  I cut a leg off a pair of old jeans, lined it with blue gingham, added a flower and used the belt as handles.  It was quite quick to do and I love it.  The only problem is that Daisy has already taken it to use.  At least I have another leg I can use to make another one.
See you later.

Brrm, brrm

Hi all,
I hope you had a good weekend.  On Saturday, we entered some things in our local village show.  Daisy entered 19 things and was very pleased when she found out that many of them got 1st, 2nd or 3rd.  She also received a cup, that will be engraved with her name and she can keep it until the next show next year.  We also spent part of the weekend looking for a new car as hubby's car is definitely kaput and unfortunately we need two cars for work and ferrying around the girls.  Hopefully we will get it next week if all the paperwork, etc is ok.  Daisy and I had another Oliver rehearsal yesterday, which is going slowly, but I am sure it will be alright on the night as we still have two months to go.
Over at Incy Wincy, we are sponsored by Pure Innocence and our theme is to make a bookmark.  I have used paper by Basic grey, a Pure Innocence image and ribbon from my stash.
See you tomorrow.

Meet Charlotte

Hi all,
It's Friday, yippee!  Martha and I went to singing tots this morning.  It was the first one after the holidays, and it was great to get back to our normal routine.  Martha really enjoyed it and now she can say more things it was great to hear her singing along.  Daisy survived her first three days in Year 1 and seems happy to be there.
Last week, I dug my sewing machine out and made a few projects which have been stacking up.  Daisy saw a cute little owl in an advert in one of my craft magazines a while ago and I said I would make her one.  We picked some fabric from my scrap box and I made up a pattern.  I finally made it last week and luckily Daisy loved it and has named her Charlotte.  As soon as Martha saw her, she asked for one, so I am part way through it and will no doubt post it on here when I have finished it.
See you later.

What day is it?

 Hi all,
I can't believe it is Thursday already.  Daisy went back to school yesterday and it is really confusing me and I keep thinking it is Tuesday today.  Daisy had a great day at school and really likes her new teacher and the new headteacher.
Over at CRAFT, we are sponsored by Some Odd Girl, Digi Doodle Shop, Truly, Madly, Crafty and Flonz. We have a picture for your inspiration today:
I have used the sky colour and the trees for my card and it would be a good opportunity to make another Christmas card.  The image is a rubber stamp I have had for ages, but don't know who it is by.
See you later.

Let's frame it!

Hi all,
Daisy and I went to see Brave at the cinema today and we really enjoyed it.  She is back at school tomorrow, so we came back and got her things ready so we don't have too much of a panic in the morning.
My show today is something I have seen before and wanted to have a go.  I found an old picture frame and decided to decorate it with strips of paper cut from magazines.  I like the effect and Daisy has claimed it for her room, asking for a picture of her and Martha to go in it.
I would like to enter this into the following:
Papertake weekly - anything goes

Over at Creative Craft, it is Team A's turn to give inspiration, so it isn't my turn, so I don't have anything to show.  The theme is One for the boys.  We also have a DT call, so please check the blog for details.
See you later.

Back to school

Hi all,
I hope you had a good weekend.  It was lovely weather here, so we spent some time outside.  We also met some friends for lunch on Sunday, which was nice as I feel like I have been in my own little world for a while and not seen anyone outside the family, so I enjoyed it.  Daisy and I did a lot of jobs around the house today and tomorrow we are going to the cinema to see Brave, as it is Daisy's last day of the holidays and I promised we would do something together as Martha is at nursery.
Over at Incy Wincy today, we are sponsored by Digital Delights.  Our theme is Back to School and I have made a little bookmark for Daisy using this cute bookworm.   I thought that she could use it for her school reading book.  It's quite simple, but I made it last week when I had no mojo and just couldn't think of things to add.  Thankfully, Mr Mojo does seem to be making a reappearance now.
See you later.

Shhh ....

Hi all,
I hope you are having a good weekend.  Daisy and hubby have gone to the theatre to see a production of Annie, and Martha is having a nap, so I thought I would get on here for a bit.
This card showcases one of the wonderful images from Nicecrane Designs and is from the Women,Women,Women pack.  This made me laugh as soon as I saw it and just had to make something with it.  The paper is by Prima, the flowers are Wild Orchid and the sentiment is from my stash and I don't know where it is from, sorry.  I have used the fab sketch from Feeling Sketchy.  This is the first time I have been able to join in this month as it's been busy having Daisy home from school, but hopefully I will be able to enter more once things get back to normal.
See you later.
