You're my hero!

Hi all,
Well, Monday is already over with. I didn't have work, so got all my jobs done before picking up the girls. Tonight, I'm off to a Sound of music rehearsal, which I'm looking forward to.
Over at Creative Craft this fortnight, we are sponsored by the fabulous Kenny K. We have a bingo board for you. You can choose a line in any direction, or four corners. Here is the board:

I have chosen blue, scallops and gems. As soon as I saw this image, I knew I had to use the superhero paper from the Polkadoodles CD Not for girls. I find male cards difficult, but I actually think this went together well. We also have a DT call running this fortnight, so hop over to the blog to find out the details.
Have a good day and see you Thursday.

Flowers for you

Hi all,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. We went into Newcastle today to see the Chinese New Year celebrations. Daisy and Martha loved the dragon and lion dances and enjoyed all the activities there were for children. We got home just as it started snowing. Luckily it stopped soon after, although it is still cold here.
This week at Incy Wincy, we are sponsored by Floppy Latte, who kindly gave the DT some images to play with. Our theme is Flower frenzy, and I used Funky Floral V by Floppy Latte. I have decoupaged the flower (I will take another photo soon so you can see this). The papers are from DCWV and the sentiment is from craftwork cards (I think). Please hop over to the blog to see the fab projects by the rest of the DT.

Yes, it is a Christmas card!

Please scroll down for my Digital Delights DT post
Hi again,
Over at CRAFT, we are sponsored by Fantastic Ribbons, The Stamping Boutique and Hope Jacare. We have a recipe for you this week, which is use a digital image, use some ribbon and use some buttons. I have used Santa and his reindeer by The Stamping Boutique. I know it is a Christmas card, but I do need to try and be organised for them for this year and not leave it until December before I make them. The snowflake paper is from a free CD I had with a magazine. I have had the snowflake ribbon for years and thought it would be perfect for this and the white card is also embossed with snowflakes, although it is quite hard to see.
Have a great rest of the week.

Blast off!

Hi all,
I hope you are having a good week. Daisy had her 3 girl friends from her class over for a play and tea on Tuesday. They seemed to have a great time and didn't create too much chaos. As there are only 4 girls in the class and they are all great friends, you can't invite one and not the others really. They are all going to one of the girl's houses today after dancing for tea. Daisy has a much better social life than I ever had!
This is my last post as DT for Digital Delights as my term is now over. I have really enjoyed my time using Wendy's fabulous designs and will definitely go over and check out her new releases every month and probably buy a few! Now, I have used Billy and Rocket and a sentiment from the Blast of accessories set. I spritzed black paper with silver glimmer mists for a space feel and then added punched circles. It isn't exactly how I saw it in my head. I'll be back later with my CRAFT DT card.

Pop!

Hi all,
I hope you had a lovely week. I met up with some friends on Saturday. We lived together when we first graduated as teachers (many moons ago) and it was lovely to chat. I hadn't seen one of them for a few months, and it was good to catch up. We then went over to my inlaws for the night and had Sunday lunch there. Today I had a day's supply at a lovely school. Everyone was really friendly and so I hope I get more work there.
Over at Incy Wincy we are sponsored by K n K Designs, who gave the DT some lovely images to work with. Our theme is anything but a card, which always fills me with dread. I like creating other things, but not when I know I have to! I decided to make a tag, using this sweet dog image. I used my label die and embossed the paper, although it is hard to see. The paper is by Digital Delights and the other things are from my stash.

I should do this more often.

Hi all,
Well, it's Friday. Yippee! Daisy has been off school today as she has breathing problems again. She has it every time she is ill, even if it is just a cold. So, we went to the doctors and she has finally been diagnosed with asthma. Hubby has it, as do both Grandads, so it was quite likely, but it has taken at least a year and many illnesses and hospital visits before a diagnosis. I hope now that the inhalers she has been given will help and that she won't miss as much school with illness.
Anyway, I felt like playing with inks and stamps tonight, which I don't do enough of. The card is for hubby's best friend and family to say thank you for our Christmas present. The image is a stamp by Penny Black that I bought last year but haven't used yet. I have inked the papers with antique linen and other brown inks. I have also gone a bit mad with the sandpaper and did a bit of distressing.

What's your number?

Please scroll down for my Digital Delights post.

Hi again,
Over at CRAFT this week, we are sponsored by Digi Darla, Floppy Latte and Bugaboo Stamps. We would like you to use numbers on your project. I have used looking pretty by Floppy Latte and I made this card for Martha to give Daisy last week on her birthday. Hopefully next year Martha will be making her own cards as she enjoys sticking and colouring, mainly on herself at the moment though. The papers are freebie magazine ones and the felt flowers were also freebies.
Have lovely rest of the week.

Bang!

Hi all,
Well, it's Thursday and the week has gone so quickly. Martha and I will probably go to the local garden centre as it has two good soft plays which Martha loves and it is so cold at the moment that I don't want to venture outside too much. On Tuesday, I went to a rehearsal of The Sound of Music. It is being done by a local musical society that I haven't been in before, but they were all very friendly on Tuesday, so I think I will enjoy being in it.
It is time for my show of Digital Delights products. I have used Cannonball Buttons, a sentiment from the Circus tickets sentiment set and the papers are from the Circus capers digital paper pack. These are all from Digital Delights. I have used my new dies I had for Christmas and made a shaped card, which is a bit different for me, as I love my square ones.
I'll be back later.

Blue is the colour

Hi all,
I have the day to myself, so I have done all the cleaning and housework needed and now thought I would have a quick check on here before I meet Daisy from the bus. I haven't had any supply jobs this week, but they can be a bit slow just after a holiday, so hopefully something will come soon.
Over at Creative Craft, we are sponsored by Papermakeup digi stamps and Stamping Boutique. Our theme is the colour blue - so please use lots of it in your creation. I have used beyond measure by papermakeup. I am still playing with my dies on the grand calibur, but I need to buy some more soon before you get fed up of these!

Next year we are going to a soft play!

Hi all,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was Daisy's 5th birthday last Tuesday and so yesterday she had her party. We had hubby's brother and family staying with us and the girls loved playing with their cousins. We hired the village hall and had a magician and face painter, which both went down well. I then did some craft with everyone (we had 22 children there) and pass the parcel, then food. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, but it was a lot of work and a soft play does seem quite appealing as even the food is supplied (even if it isn't the healthiest selection). I said this last year and was still persuaded to do it ourselves again, so I wonder what will happen next year? At least when Martha is 2 in July, it will only be a small family thing.
Anyway, over at Incy Wincy we are sponsored by the fantastic Sassy Studio Designs and our theme is bold and bright. I have used a wonderful Sassy image, called Masquerade Ariel Honey, and I had gone pink again (sorry!) I won the papers a while ago and they didn't have a make on them. The ribbon is VERY bright in real life, but my photo doesn't show it up very well. Have a lovely day,

Celebrate good times - come on!

For my Digital Delights DT post, please scroll down.
Hello again,
Over at CRAFT, we are sponsored by Eiglas, Crimson Cloud and Trimgym's digistamps and images. Our theme is celebrations and I have used Bride and Groom by Eiglas for my card. I have used white only with a silver stamped sentiment. Please check out the other projects from the rest of the DT.

Time to clean

Hi all,
Thanks for your support about my return to work. I had 30 5 and 6 year olds in the class, but apart from being a bit chatty, they were lovely and I really enjoyed myself. I know that this won't always be the case when on supply, but it is nice to ease in gently. Martha and I will be cleaning the house today (she loves to help me hoover), as we have family up this weekend. It is Daisy's birthday party on Sunday (her 5th birthday was on Tuesday) and I have so much to do. We have 20 children coming, so it will be an interesting and noisy two hours!
It's time for my show of Digital Delights images. Wendy has worked her magic again, and has a wonderful new release for you. It's all about the fabulous fifties. I have used the image called Dazzling Sue, I have all used a sentiment from the 50s sentiment set and the papers are from the fabulous fifties paper pack.
I'll be back later with my CRAFT DT card.

Our fine four fendered friend!

Hi all,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. We went down to Manchester to visit hubby's brother and family as it was our niece's 7th birthday party. The girls had a fab time with their cousins and didn't want to come home yesterday. I have my first supply teaching job tomorrow, so I will be getting some planning done later today. I am nervous as this will be my first time in a classroom for 2 years. Tutoring was fun, but one child at a time is not as scary as 30 in one go! I'm sure I'll soon feel like I have never been away, though.
Over at Incy Wincy this week, we are sponsored by
and our theme is vintage. I have used a wonderful image by Stamping Dragon Designs called Dodge Tourer. I gave this card to my Dad for his birthday on 20th December. The papers are by Floppy Latte and I distressed the edges with vintage photo distress ink. Please check out the rest of the creations from the DT

Just for you

Please scroll down for my Digital Delights post.
Hi again,
Over at CRAFT this week, we are sponsored by Karen's Doodles, Just Tracy's and In 2 stamps. Our theme is thank you, which reminds me that we haven't done our girls' Christmas thank you letters yet - another job to go on the list. I have used Just for you by Karen's Doodles. The papers are by Prima and Pie Lane and I have used my scroll die again (I love it!)
I'm off this evening to meet up with the people from the musical society I was in that did Annie last year, if I don't get blown away.

Changing by torchlight

Hi all,
Last night was so windy, I was so glad to be staying in. This morning we woke up and had no electricity. It was very interesting trying to get myself and the girls ready by torchlight and then to organise Daisy's lunch and school things. There was a problem with low voltage apparently, but it is all sorted now.
The girls from Digital Delights are back from our holiday and we have more inspiration for you using Wendy's fantastic designs. I have used Felicia Fairy and a happy birthday sentiment. I have gone very pink and girly as it is Daisy's 5th birthday next week and I think I will give this to her. She loves fairies, princesses and pink at the moment, which is a big change from Thomas the tank engine which she was obsessed with until she was 3! The paper is by Kaisercraft and I have used a range of dies and cut a butterfly out of my DP for an embellishment.

It's oh so quiet

Hi all,
Daisy went to school happily this morning as she was desperate to see her friends again. Martha and I went to toddlers and now she is having a nap, so I'm having a coffee and a quick catch up.
It was my father in law's birthday on 31st December and this is the card I made him. Hubby really wasn't very helpful for ideas, so I went for this fab Bugaboo image and sentiment. It's quite plain, but I couldn't think of any male embellishments to use!

The holiday's over

Hi all,
Today was Daisy's last day of holiday. It was really windy and rainy, so we stayed indoors and played with the Christmas presents. Martha will definitely miss her big sister when she is back at school as Mummy isn't always as interesting!
Over at Creative Craft, our theme this fortnight is New Year's resolutions. I don't really make them, but I would like to make more use of our garden (when the weather is nicer) and keep up with the pruning, etc it needs. I would also like to sow some vegetables as we couldn't last year because we got back from Sydney in May and it was too late to start sowing things once we had tidied the garden up (the tenants left it to be a jungle). So, I have used a wonderful image from one of our sponsors, Bugaboo. I'm not sure who made the paper as I cut the bottom off, and the flowers are a mix of makes. I'll be back tomorrow with another card.

Promarker candy

The wonderful Jules from Always with a heart has some fab candy up for grabs. It's 20 promarkers of your choice from handy hippo. I don't own any at the moment, so I thought I would enter to see if I could start my collection. Go over to Jules' blog to find out the details. You have until the 8th January to enter.

Another busy day

Hi all,
It's hubby's last day of holiday. He had a week and a day off, so it will be odd tomorrow when it is just me and the girls. We are having some friends around for lunch and then we are off to the inlaws later in the afternoon.
Over at Incy Wincy, we are sponsored by our teamie Nikki, from Limited Runs. Our theme is nice and easy - anything goes. I used Art deco flower from Limited runs and went for a blue and brown coimbination. The papers are by DCWV and the ribbon is from a box of chocolates. I'll see you tomorrow with my Creative Craft DT card.

Happy New Year challenge

Hi all,
Happy New Year. We had a lovely night with our friends. They brought their PS2 and so once the children were asleep (it took a while as they were excited at having a sleepover), we had a go on Singstar. I've never done it before, but had great fun. We went for a walk in the local woods this morning and are now chilling watching The Wizard of Oz.
It was hubby's birthday on 29th December and here is the card I made for him. The piano image and music paper are from the Graphics Fairy. The other papers are by Floppy Latte. The alphabet stamps are by Studio G and the other stamp (in brown) is by Debbi Moore. Every year, I have real problems finding a musical image for hubby, so if any of you know of any stamps (rubber or digi) which show pianos or music, please let me know.
I would like to thank Annmaree for the wonderful Christmas card she sent me. It was very much appreciated.
