Bon voyage

Over on Allsorts Challenge blog this week, they're asking for a project including a tag, label or ticket. I thought of a luggage label, so used some compass printed paper and a map of Paris and distressed them. I also added a picture of the Eiffel tower and a digi stamp from Charmed cards and crafts. I used part of the French script stamp on a label and then attached it to a ribbon buckle.

Polkadoodles week 6.

Over at polkadoodles, the week 6 challenge is hearts and flowers. I had a real problem getting inspiration, but think I am there now. I used my new stampin up goodies I got this week. I used a french script background stamp as I think of France when I think of romance, hearts and flowers. Then, I cut a heart shaped aperture and attached two stamped flowers. I have layered one of the flowers for depth. I used a rose stamp to create a background for the aperture. This is quite a simple card, but it took me ages! I'm sorry about the photo, but I kept getting shadows somewhere.

A bit of magic

Over on Allsorts challenge blog, there's a recipe with a difference, where you choose the 3,2,1 items. For my card, I have used 3 flowers, 2 gems and 1 ribbon. I thought the paper had a magical theme to it, so used a fairy stamp and lots of sparkle!

Princess card

Yesterday Daisy was invited to a princess birthday party for a three year old girly girl. I made up the template myself for this card and enjoyed doing it. As Daisy isn't a girly girl, I'm more used to making train and truck cards!

What a great start to the week!

This morning, I got the great news that I have won a hero stamp and sentiments in the blog hop and challenge run by Sir Stampalot over on Brenda's blog. I can't believe it and it's a great start to a wet Monday morning. Thank you!

Very happy

No card to post, but just to share a bit of news. My butterfly distressed card was named in the top 5 for last week's allsorts challenge. I'm so chuffed, but had to keep checking back to make sure my name really was there!

Paper piecing

Over on the Polkadoodles blog, the theme is paper piecing. I have some great animal stamps from Woodware and thought it would be fab for a first birthday card I have to make. So, I paper pieced the monkey, leaves and grass, using 3D foam pads for the paws and nose to add depth. The backing paper is light green, but hasn't come out very well in the photo. I do enjoy this technique, but find it quite time consuming, which isn't good for someone who leaves things until the last minute!

Allsorts challenge

Over on the Allsorts challenge blog this week, the theme is distressed with button/s and a bow. I'm always very wary of making a new card and then tearing it up but I enjoyed making this one. I used my scissors to distress the green card and then ripped the paper. I used a kaisercraft butterfly stamp.

Moving challenge

Over on Brenda's blog, she is running a blog hop and special challenge to celebrate Sir stampalot moving to bigger premises. I had real trouble getting some inspiration for this one, but found a free template for this pop-up bird house. The bird moves in and out of the house. I've taken a couple of photos to show the movement. On the front of the card, I used a kaisercraft bird stamp and tore some paper to make hills.

polkadoodles challenge

Whilst blog hopping I found this fab challenge at polkadoodles. They are asking for a Valentine's card in non-traditional colours. I've used some more great paper from Kaisercraft and a really cute chipboard owl called Ozzie! I used glimmer mists on Ozzie and just added some green pearls in the right hand corner. I kept it quite simple as I wanted Ozzie to be the star! I'm thinking of giving this to hubby for Valentine's day, although he's bound to cringe at the cheesy sentiment.

Allsorts challenge

There's a fab sketch to follow on the allsorts challenge blog. I've used a fab digi stamp from Charmed cards and crafts and a slightly unusual (for me) colour combination, which was inspired by the lovely paper from kaisercraft I have used here, that can just be seen.
