Yet another one!

There's a fab challenge on the Peachy Keen Stamps challenge blog. The brief is to:

Make a card.

Use the colours pink and brown as the main colour scheme.

Use a stamped image.

Incorporate a piece of ribbon.

Use some type of glitter.

Here's my card. I loved making it as it's not my usual colour scheme. I had some great pink patterned acetate, so used that to go over brown paper from the DCWV garden party stack (yes, that one again!). I coloured this lovely Sarah Kay image and made a ribbon flower as well as using ribbon at the top. I used pink glitter in the centre of the flowers.

Daisy card

As my little whirlwind was in kindy all day today, I decided to use some time to craft. Unfortunately after grocery shopping, etc, I only had time to make this one card. Over on the allsorts challenge blog, the theme is to include a 'furry friend' on your project. I chose this cute stamp of Daisy and decided to make another Christmas card (I NEED to get a move on with these). I punched Daisy onto a circle, to match the baubles on some card I bought a few years ago but haven't used and then glitter the edge and Daisy's collar. I do love a bit of bling.

Christmas cards

Hi, sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days, but I've been a bit busy. It was lovely weather on Saturday, so we went to the beach for the first time since we've been here (it's only taken us two and a half months!) Daisy loved splashing in the water and building sandcastles. It's a good job we went when we did, as it's now bucketing down. Boo!
I haven't been completely idle, as one of the lovely ladies over on the Crafts Beautiful forum is raising money for her daughter's nursery as they had a burst pipe which damaged a lot of equipment and resources. As a teacher, I know how hard it is if you don't have the necessary equipment to hand. Anyway, she is having a stall at the nursery's Christmas fair selling Christmas cards, so I thought I would make a few to send her. They are quick and simple ones, but they need to be sent off soon. I used some fab Patchwork Kingdom decoupage and also a great santa digi stamp from Charmed cards and crafts. I'm hoping to do some more, but maybe I should start on the ones I need to make for us first!

Penny black Saturday challenge

Yes, this blog lark is very addictive and so are blog challenges! This is a card I made for the Penny black Saturday challenge. This week, there was a sketch to work from and I really enjoyed doing it, although it took a lot of thinking about. I have used orange bazzil textured card and two papers from my DCWV Garden Party stack. I've used this cute penny black hedgehog stamp, which I have had for some time. I really should use more bright colours in my work and not just stick to the same colour schemes.

Very impressed with myself

Just had to say I'm so chuffed I managed to include the link for the allsorts blog in my last post AND link my card on the challenge page. Not bad.

Next great thing - our sea freight arrived today - yippee, hurrah, etc, cue mad jumping around the room. I now have my stash so will be playing with it for the next few days when my daughter lets me. Luckily, she was so pleased her toys arrived that she will be busy with them.

Allsorts challenge entry

Well, this is my very first entry into a blog challenge, so I'm very nervous showing my humble effort. Over on the allsorts challenge blog, the theme is monochrome Christmas and there is also a sketch to follow. I chose green (in case you can't tell!) and used a fab stamp from the Daisy and Dandelion collection - I think it's onion. I also used some great flocked card, which I can't stop stroking.

Butterflies

I used paper from the DCWV garden party stack again to make this. I decoupaged one of the flowers and used my new glimmer mists to colour the chipboard butterfly. I then stamped two small butterflies in versamark ink and coloured them with chalk. I really like the effect and will use it again.

A bit of pink!

An ex-colleague of mine had a little baby girl a couple of weeks ago so I made this card to send her. I hope she likes it and doesn't mind it being a bit late. I used bazzil pink card and some pink patterned paper from the DCWV garden party stack, which I think is fab. The nappy and babygro are made from parts of a sock left over from Joseph the pig.

Oink Oink

Here is the latest result of my sock creature obsession - Joseph the pig. Again, he is made from one and a half socks.

Meet Olav and Violet

Here are my new best friends, Olav and Violet. I was wanting to do something creative until my stash arrives and found a fab book in the local library on sock monsters. So, I bought these bargain socks and created Olav. Violet appeared quickly after. They are each made from one and a half knee length socks. My daughter insisted Olav had to have a nose and chose it for him. I'm quickly getting addicted to making these as they each seem to have their own character.

Hello

This is my first post on my shiny new blog. I've loved crafting ever since I was little, but rediscovered it when my daughter was born in 2007. I now make cards and dabble in other crafts like jewellery making and sewing. Anything, really, that grabs me. I've recently moved to Australia with my family and have had to cope without my craft stash for months as it is coming via sea freight. It's been difficult, believe me!

I'm hoping to share my crafty makes with you.
